Happy Valentines Day -APR

Happy Valentines Day to all.

Well Jenn over at the Artist Play Room had a challenge this week to create something for Valentines Day.

This picture is something I created in December for my 2013 Calendars....I didn't end up using it, but I thought it would be perfect for today.

It has red hearts, pink icing and pink roses....what more could you want on  anyValentines day...LOL

As my good friend Alice over at the Creator Leaf has done, I too thought it a good time to share some of my "thanks".

I would like to thank our wonderfully creative host Jenn for being so diligent in creating the themes each week.  

I would like to thank all those who stop by occasionally or regularly to visit me at Cottage Remnant.

For those who have kept me lifted in prayer as my family and I teetered on the top of a roller coaster ride....lol... a big thanks!

For those in bloggerville that I have come to call friend....thanks buddy's,

and mostly I would like to thank my most wonderfully faithful God....He has carried me through these 47 plus years (48 years on February 28-woot woot).

So once again!!!

A.P.R.- Cherry Blossom

Happy Wednesday All♥

I have a wee dilemma that I will only bore you briefly with....LOL

I have been working part time with a wonderful girl doing house cleaning....that's not the dilemma ...lol

because of the over dose in vacuuming and mopping I seem to have buggered up my wrists and hands this week.....

So whats the dilemma???

Pain.....I can't hold my mouse or type for long....so my post is over....LOL

A.P.R. Challenge♥

Jenn over at the A.P.R. challenge has come up with a fun challenge this week

(now thats not to say that they aren't all fun Jenn :0)

This weeks challenge was to do a recipe page of one of your favorite recipes.

This picture was painted in lovely soft pinks and greens,
but my scanner thought other wise today....
soooo we have lime green and lemonade pink instead...
what do you do when you scanner gives you pink lemons???
You go with it....LOL

This recipe is from my husband Maternal Grandmother.

They have become a HUGE success within my family as well, they are a MUST on the Christmas lists.

My sister, who is really cute....hates baking....so every Christmas the question of , "are you making shortbread" comes up....I hymn and ha but eventually I make them....or even better, Hubby likes to make them.

Well hope you enjoy! 

you can't find an easier recipe with such a high success rate anywhere....LOL

A.P.R. Sketch Challenge

Challenge this week was a little

'Sketchie"....LOL

So above is my attempt at a facial sketch.

I decided I was going to figure out how to sketch a basic face....

I am getting a little tired of drawing people without features, I want to step it up a knotch...LOL

I need somewhere between the above and below facial features.

A face that easy easier to repeat....LOL....

Zen-Tangle

TaDa!!! :0)

So here is my honest attempt at a "zentangle"Jenn over at A.P.R. challenged us this week to create a {{{Zentangle}}}
I'm not too sure if this "technically" qualifies as a zentangle...apparently there is a "right"  way to do them....who knew...LOL
Mine of course is based around a flower; shocker right....LOL
Doing this challenge was a really good exercise for me, because I have discovered I'm not much on little details...
I haven't the patience for a lot of background or little extras....which I need want to focus more on....I need to s-l-o-w it down, go the little extra.
So great challenge this week JennFun and a lesson all in one.
Well lunch beckons me hither.

Name Game.... A.P.R.

So here is my entry for A.P.R.'s

"BOOKMARK"

Challenge.

Doesn't really look like a bookmark does it,

it's a tad stout....

I decided to give colouring with Photoshop a shot, I was having such fun creating the sketch that I forgot I was to make it long and narrow, not short and stout...Oh well...there are no REAL RULES are there....LOL

I started this adventure using "LINED" paper...whew! so glad to find out that I can write on lined paper and scan it in as "black and white" and presto zumo...no lines....

Of course I couldn't paint or use markers it wouldn't scan through without lines.... so thats when I decided to try the Photoshop route.

ALOT more flippin work....dumb mouse wouldn't pay attention, and my laptop mouse was cat-napping....

But all in all, I am relatively satisfied.

I still prefer good ol' ink or paint.

I see that I have reverted somewhat back to my old boring lettering, I must watch for that....LOL

A.P.R.-Dark and Light -sorta :0)

A.P.R.

Light and Dark was our challenge this week.

I had pictured that I would do a black and white with just a hint of colour, I could almost see it behind my eye lids....

But. . . . I just got so darn carried away with my new {{{MARKERS}}}, now they aren't the famous "Copics or even Prismacolours"....they are a Walmart special "Bic Mark-it"

I couldn't even begin to phathom purchasing those, the last time I used markers was in grade 10 Geography ( I loved colouring maps)

{{{Shocker}}} because I'm sure you're Shocked its a flower...LOL

 So Shocker is what I did this evening to enter into the challenge. . . not really what I pictured as light and dark. . .but it does have shading (which is dark) and I do love shading.

APR Challenge~ Colour

Jenn's APR at Just Add Water Silly

I have a happy theme for this week's APR challenge... "RAINBOW".

Color makes me so happy, I'm totally passionate about colorful art, it makes my spirit soar. That's why I picked this theme. Now, don't think that you HAVE to actually make a rainbow, if you want to do that, fabulous but you can just make something colorful! Make a mash up of all the colors or highlight a few of them, just make art that makes you think "OOh, HAPPY COLOR!"

So I tried something a little different this time....It's NOT a ROSE...LOL

Surprisingly my scanned image is so much more me  pastel then the original.

Originally I had thought planned on having many colours across these piece. . . .
 but my heart w♥n and I used my favorite colours
Pink and her best friend Green.

What can I say, I love those colours together, they just delight my heart.

Tea and a Good Word Challenge

 Coffee or Tea 

When I read Jenn's Challenge at APR I totally new what I was going to add.  I created the above teapot many years ago....it was one of the first things I think I ever painted, I was so shocked when it turned out.

I have been a "Tea Totter" all my life, I have tried Coffee twice. . . . yuk yuk both times.

I have collected teacups for the past. . . well. . .  forever it seems. . . . Tea cups with roses though of course.

I have loved Roses. . . . Pink Roses from as far back as I can remember, I think there was pink rose wall paper in one of my wee childhood bedrooms.(Thanks Mom♥)

Now when I read the Challenge by Diane at I.A. this week about words that inspire,

I wanted to be ever so intellectual and artsy sounding by quoting my favorite poet or author....but I don't have any. . . . I have never really paid attention to words. . . . ouch, did I just ostracize myself. . . . .LOL

I could of quoted any of the wonderful and meaningful scriptures I have highlighted in my bible. . . .but that just isn't me.

Nope, I'm not a word person . . . . 

I will quickly scan something, pick out the words that I THINK are IMPORTANT and carry on. . . . (explains the two part application form for I.A.)

Which is a little strange, because I really like to talk, and that involves A LOT OF words. . . . lol

(I probably won't even take the time to properly RE-READ this post)

PINK PINK PINK PINK!!!

 Pink just absolutely delights my heart. . . .

I loved hanging my girls baby clothes on the line and looking at them. . . .

all little wee pink dresses and shirts and socks. . . .

I get so inspired when I see Pink anything, even my pink clothes pegs. . . .

If I see Pink flowers, that's it. . . .I'm off to my paper and paints in my imagination.

I love love Pink and I love love Roses and I love love Tea. . . . .Tetley Tea, Green Tea, Tetley Earl Grey Green Tea, Chai Tea, Iced Tea, Peppermint Tea. . . . .oh and I love to mix Tetleys Earl Grey Green Tea with Peppermint Tea !

Spring Challenge

 Saturday morning Artist Play Room Challenge....

SPRING inspiration was the challenge.

I just love Photoshop....it enables me to combine several of my creations into one...something new from something older....sort of like Spring itself.

I think creating something of your own is so kewl, because it is yours to do what you want with it...I love that creative freedom....

I'm not sure of what REALLY happened with my boy Franklin (the cat) in this picture.....I think burhaps (lol) he got caught up in some nasty ol' burrs.....LOL

Artists Playroom challenge #3

 Challenge #3 from Artists Playroom

The task was to create using our surroundings which inspired us.

Well.....As I read the challenge I thought, now what inspires me????
And without sounding like a "teacher pet".....lol......Jennifer at Just Add Water Silly, is what is inspiring me right now.
I sit at my desk and I now have so many things to create.
Funny thing with the picture.....where you see the "INSERT" blank blank blank..... try as I could, do you think I could draw a stupid rectangle crate, or draw my cat....things normally I could draw, just not this day.....soooooo I decided to use my artistic licence and insert them as a label....I also thought..... it's my inspirational picture and if I want my laptop green and blue then I can paint it green and blue.....I would of preferred to paint it pink but then my secret keyboard keys wouldn't show up..... LOL...lame eh?
Well I hope your week, your day, your next hour holds you captive with inspiration....

Artists Playroom Challenge Complete♥

Good Saturday Morning 

Artist Playroom Challenge as well as Sweet Saturdays

I absolutely loved this challenge from Artist Playroom, it rekindled my love for drawing roses and roses, oh and roses....The Challenge was to "Doodle" using my initials.

 I know, these don't look much like "Doodles"....I'm easing my way into it....

 Below is my actual "Doodle"....I made myself stop, think and create...

I just love the colour Pink, as you can tell.....

I can sit down with pencil and paper and think  (there's that darn thinking again)...I am going to create something "rustic" looking perhaps.....but in the end....it looks pretty and Pink.

It's just what I love to create, so I'm going with it!!!♥
