Welcome to the year 2013!!!

I'm back for a brief moment it seems.

Well, I’m a little late with that one, but better late than never-correct?
2012 was year of trials and tribulation for me and my wee family.
Hubby still hasn't found a steady job, daughter number 2 decided she needed “space” so she moved to my sisters,   I now have osteoarthritis in my knees and my wrists, and perhaps “fibermyalga” brought on by stress and physical wear and tear and last but not least, (big gulp) we nearly lost our house to the bank, we were, as hubby says, “one foot out the door”. We are now 95% sure we have managed to save our home. We are however 100% sure that any saving of our home was done by God.  I don’t think I have appreciated my home so much as I do now.
I praise God for whatever accommodations He provides for us.  He, in His wonderful awesome wisdom, has taken hubby and I on a crash test course.  He has shown me some pretty interesting and painful things about myself and my-cough, cough- flaws.
Onward and upward is where we go from here. I have decided that in the wonderful event that we successful remain within our home; all those who blessed us with food and financial aid, for those who took our requests before the Lord, they are all invited to one honking’ celebration pool party this summer.
Do you see the cream coloured enamel pan at the bottom of the back steps? That is for my girl Buddy to drink out of when she is strolling the back yard.  It is also there for the chipmunks to drink out of; it keeps them from certain death in the pool.

I have been keeping sane with my watercolours; without t.v. or internet there isn't much left do to on a cold winter’s eve.
For Christmas my girls bought me some wonderful Bienfang Water Brushes, they are so kewl.  They also bought me watercolour paper of quality, what a difference it makes…WOW!

I was ¾ finished this when I took this shot. My watercolour experience is still a work in progress, but I am having a wonderful time learning.
Funny story about this picture; I sketched this using a picture in a Romantic Homes magazine, but I forgot to take into account that I turned the magazine sides ways, which meant the shading was on top and not where it was supposed to be.
It wasn't until I was almost finished did I realize why I was having such a struggle.
My brain knew that the shading should be under, but the picture showed it on top.  I had quite a laugh at myself when I realized it, so I adjusted where I could and the rest –ehh- it’s all good.

Well, I guess that is all for today.
I hope you find joy in the smallest of things today!

May God who gives Grace and Mercy enable you to share grace and mercy with others this day!
Blessings,
Cynthia

P.S. I have decided that I am going to TRY and use my given name of “Cynthia” rather than Cindy.  Cynthia is so much more creatively satisfying to write, don’t you think; the swirl of the “y” the swoopy tail of the “t” and the hearts on the “i”.

♫Let it Snow, Let it Snow♫...enough now!!!

Yesterday was a quiet day for me.
Hubby and Daughter have gone to the city to see his parents and I get to stay home, tidy the house (and have it stay that way) and watch the animals, I think I've gotten the better deal....love in-laws, but love quiet time more.
The above Picture was taken mid afternoon of the little plaza across the road.

These lovely pictures were taken roughly 4 hours later, just before the power was shut down to the whole town. What was falling was that lovely heavy snow that sticks to EVERYTHING it sees....I love that kind of snow, even if it takes out a power transformer.  Within a few hours the power was back on and all was well.

Morning Surprise

Well last night I fell asleep to the sound of rain pounding on my bedroom window.....
that's right, I said rain!!!
You can see why there was such a shock when I woke up and peered out at 6:30 this morning.
Everything was coating in a thick layer of heavy snow, it was beautiful.
It truly was a Wonderland this morning.
As you can see my boy Franklin was in shock as well, he couldn't believe his eyes, although he has never touched snow, or felt it on his little precious paws....
He still kept looking out with a longing that said...."please can't I go play".... sorry my boy,
but outside you cannot play.
It saddens me to not allow him out, but I love him way too much to have him hop the fence and get lost.
Now if I thought he would stay on a leash perhaps he could go for a walk, just a my neighbors so faithfully walk their dog.

~ I'm Lost ~

I will let these pictures explain.....
I mean who does this?????

this to this

this to this

and this to that

I don't know what has happened.

I was quite paniced when I was visiting Counting Your Blessings and Parisienne Farmgirl.... the other day. Looking at their BEAUTIFUL homes and then thinking of what I have gotten rid of (not that mine came close to theirs but...), donated it to the youth garage sale and the rest to my friend (who won't give it back.... :0)

But after the panic subsided I began to feel a little calm, thinking "o.k. this style is probably (hopefully) not where I am going to stay", perhaps it was just a bridge from the Cottage look to the "Bigger House" look, maybe the farm house look.....maybe a baroque farmhouse (is that a real style). I'm not sure what is next, but I do hope I'm not staying with this "uncreative" look.

The only up side to all of this is that my Husband and Children are happy!!!! They HATED the other look... my hubby would call it "that shabby chic sh_t".... can you imagine...:0) Pin It

Look What God did #2

This was before......................and this is after

This is a futon mattress inside a double bed frame

This is a Queen mattress & box spring inside the same frame.

My dear Friend Monica showed up Sunday afternoon, with this wonderful bed along with the sofa and love seat...... Can you say comfortable.

As you can see I need to get some bedding for a queen size bed, along with a proper frame.... but i don't care, I love my new comfy items....

Please pray for Blessings for my friend Monica, she is very sad and can use God's hand in her life.
P.S. Isn't this just a wonderful and sunny apartment my Father has provided?

Christmas Cactus

Well.... my "Christmas Cactus" bloomed at Christmas.... whada-ya-know!!!!!
This was part of my grandmothers cactus, my mother and sister both have "offspring" from it as well.
Looking at this picture I had to laugh at myself..... for a girl who has a house that is as tiny as mine, you wouldn't think I should be waisting it with such large decorations...... NAH!!!!
Of course I would.
As you can see also, Franklin is everywhere I go.... That's My Boy!!!!

Here it is.... Creative Corners

As you can see my pink chair is my creative corner, my knitting sits on the floor beside me, as well my yarn bag and my bible info bag sit nicely in behind my chair (in front of the ladder). My sketch books and pencils sit on (or in) my white end table. My bible is buried under my papers... As you can also see, I am NEVER alone :0)

My dinning room table is my painting easel.... I could pretend that I was in sun room.....

As you can also see, my house is very very small.....you've seen the whole room, that's it, both sides..LOL

This I hate to admit is my hallway..... since I do not have an accessible basement... (husband has claim to all of it).... I must use my hallway for storage.
Ouch! that's hard to look at......

It's BACK.....!!!!!

Well, after many days of rain the snow decided it was it's turn..... it started snowing Friday night and did not stop until this morning..... I think it is here to stay... :0(
I do like the way everything looks though, if it just wasn't so darn cold and messy.
Oh how Canadian of me, to be complaining of the weather, already... LOL

Oops!!!! this is what happens when you ignore the obvious.... :0)

Come on Spring

As I look out my front door, I am reminded of how far off Spring really is. How typically Canadian of me to be dicussing the weather :-) like I have some kind of control over tomorrow's forcast. Complaining about the snow has never made it leave any faster.

I can only pull from the back of my memory banks the feeling of a warm breeze, along with the healing warmth of the sun. Alas, I fear the shadow of the new homes may very well hinder the effects of the sun. Pin It

Kitchen

I painted an old 1940-50's (so I've been told) kitchen hoosier-ish, that I bought this summer.
I then had to make a new valance for the window, which of course already has cool old porch windows sitting in-front of my regular windows, I found those by the side of the road.

I am so enjoying being at home at decorating. I finally have discovered what I love. Took me few years LOL. No going back now.

I have always stayed close to pink and cottage look, but never took the time to ask myself what is was that I loved when I would look at a magazine. I have done that, and have gotten awesome results.
