The Mailman dropped something off for me the other day....well actually it was a delivery person, and they left it on my front door-wish they had of knocked.....oh well, it arrived.
These are the toys supplies i bought with my birthday money from my dear friend.

 Being typically me, I was afraid to use these at first, after all I wouldn't want to waste them or use them all up at once....I know a little crazy!!!!
But I opened them up and gave them a try..... these Sakura Glaze pens are so kewl (cool)....and they blend nicely together.... although I haven't been able to find out yet whether all the Gelly Roll pens do or not..... if anyone knows I love to hear.

 I used a little bit of everything, I'm becoming so adventurous.....LOL
A bit of watercolour, coloured pencil, blending pencil and of course the glaze pens.

 I like how the glaze pens leave a shine behind, and are slightly raised.

 I also discovered that I have a "chop"... my little signature in the bottom corner here is called a "chop", who knew! Well actually my friend Alice knew, she is the one who told me......

Play Day♥

Today was is my 48th Birthday!

and what did I do?

Whatever I wanted, which was nothing but play.

I spent most of my morning and afternoon searching through Amazon.com , a dear friend of mine gave me a gift card to purchase whatever I wanted.....well....I had to make sure I chose wisely, as well as daringly....

I purchased a Joanne Fink "zenspirations" book

Sakura "Glaze" Gel pens

and Prisma color blending pencils.

There were so many wonderful things I could of ordered, unfortunately not all things are shipped to Canada...but I had a great time looking at all the new and wonderful things out there for creating......I have created a "wish list" on there now though...that is a great idea, I tend to forget what I'd like to try next....

Once the "confirm order" button was pushed, I got to playing.

I started just by doodling with the flower, then added some  Prisma coloured pencils, tried a little marker addition (i wasn't too successful with that).... then I was brave and added a watercolour background.....

I used the markers that I shouldn't have, they are not waterproof...

TADA!!!!!

I'm quite happy with this one...even if it is a little wrinkly....

Outside the Box

I'm pretty happy with this piece.... not because it is extraordinarily beautiful, or because of the great detail or even because it has remarkable calligraphy displayed..... because it has neither of those...
I like this because
I WENT OUTSIDE the BOX...
I pushed myself to NOT over think everything, to just do it!
I didn't focus on creating wonderful letters-and then getting discouraged....I just did it....

My biggest struggle is a funny one..... i unintentionally created the background to mimic the dress my mother wore, I believe at my first wedding in 1984..... not that there was anything wrong with the dress, it was a perfectly fine dress.....it just became my mothers dress....I can FEEL the fabric.....LOL

I also tried combing different supplies.....watercolour paint, crayons, marker and even pencil crayon.....thats huge for me...again-LOL.

A Little Canadian Snowflake♥

Canadian Snowflake

Well my good friend Alice sent me these cute little "zentanlge" squares along with some other treasures, and today I thought I would try one.

I don't know if I have used any particular "zentagle" patterns, but I doodled away.....it was rather relaxing, which I think is the purpose behind the little squares and their multitude of lines and curves.....LOL

As you can see, there is not a drop of pink, but take note of the little hearts.....they are always pink in my eyes....hehehe...

So for my friends who are WARMLY BASKING IN SUNSHINE, I am sending you a little Canadian Snowflake....we have lots of extras after last nights storm....LOL

So this is a last minute entry....I rather enjoyed my morning tangle....

looking at the little blocks i wondered.... is it just me or do they look a lot like the coasters you get at a bar....I wonder if the first "zentangle" was done sitting at the bar while waiting for their table to be ready ...LOL

Prismacolor Trial No#1

I tried something new today.....I tried pencil crayons....Prismacolor Pencil crayons....not quite the same as I used in georgraphy class in high school....
I went on line to discover that I am to "blend" these pencil crayons, which I couldn't do with Crayola (no offense crayola)..... I was supposed to use a special kind of blending pencil, but I have no idea where to get one of those....if it isn't at walmart....I can't find it....LOL

Well I discovered that using a "stump" and some mineral oil, baby oil or any other oil (not veggie oil...i think that would be yukky) blends the colours together....rather kewl I thought.... although I'm sure most of you have long ago discovered this technique....I'm a tad late to the game....LOL

I'm rather pleased with the outcome....and once again.... NO PINK!.... I'm just not sure whats going on with me these daze days....vibrant colours seem to be the colour of the month for me.....

Attention to details....NOT!

This is what happens when I don't pay attention to details.....LOL

If you notice the colours!!!!

There isn't any PINK.....LOL

I started out using a Staedtler Pigment Liner 0.1, sketeched everything and sat back.

Looking at it from afar I decided I needed to "emphazie" some of the letters lines.

Sooooooooo.....

I grabed a Staedtler triplus fineliner 0.3 and proceeded to "emphaze" some of the lines.

Sat back and was relativly pleased.

Now time to add colour, and as many of you know..... I'm chicken!

But colour I was going to add....

I started off adding red to the teeny tiny hearts that are on the music notes....whew was a good thing I started there.....
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

The thicker black IS NOT WATERPROOF....!!!!!!

So as you can see I had to finish in bright coloured markers.

Thank goodness I had already water-coloured the tree and the bird BEFORE I tweaked the letters.

But it was a great  good experiment for me.....it allowed me to go a little further with colour and design then I normally would have.... all in all, it isn't a piece that I will ever have in my home, but it was fun.....

BTW....I cheated on the background.....No way was my marker going to create a nice background...so I used a computer program for the background.

Doodly Doo Art -living colour♥

I think I am beginning to develop my own style with this new art form (new to me).

I was getting a little conserned that I just wasn't going to get it, but patience is winning out (NOT my strongest asset...at all).

I did this one on watercolour paper and used my watercolour pencils to add colour.  These pencils made by Reeves are the silliest things; they do not have names on them..... 

Anyway......

I scanned it in, but unfortunatly my scanner ALWAYS sees the nice soft green as a yellow/green, not sure how to fix that.....not major!

My scanner also has a habit of scanning things to look longer and skinnier then they really are.....HMMMMM, maybe I should scan myself in......LOL

Doodly Doo Art- Dangles♥

What to do you a blizzard passes by your home, town, county, heck half the eastern seaboard.....

You play...LOL

I gave a try to Joanne Fink's "dangling zenspiration" idea.....

I added the cream back ground via "corel paintshop", the rest of the colours I added myself.... I was brave and took coloured marker in hand and just did it....LOL

If you've read the past two post you will note that I was too chicken to try colour!

I don't totally hate them, neither am I totally in love with them....still some tweaking to do I reckon.

Well I have been "doodly dooing" all afternoon!

It has really caused me to s--l--o--w ---- d--o--w--n!!! 

For me is a good thing, my brain races all the time.  

If i could just get my body to keep up I might shed these "extra" pounds.... LOL

New Best Thing!

WELL I've found a new favorite thing!

Its called "zenspiration", created by Joanne Fink.

It works a little better with my personality and style I think.

I love things that are fuzzy;

like fuzzy lampshades

fuzzy scarfs

fuzzy (frayed) jean shorts

fuzzy art!

(My family would say I must love fuzzy clothes, but that's because quite often I'm covered in cat or dog hair....I don't mind though, the bit of hair cannot compare to their love ♥)

This stuff is fuzzy with squiggles and lines out of bounds....yup, my kinda doodly doo art.
