Paint Party Friday: Feed the Tulips
I was trying to gently remind my mother the other day that she spent little time feeding her Creative Brain. My mother who is a very creative women sadly FEEDs her Logic Brain way more then she does her Creative Brain.I was reminded of the little story of the Indian Grandfather sharing a story with his grandson about good and evil, and the one that grows is the one you feed. The same can be applied to Logic and Creativity.
According to the book "The Artists Way" (which is strangly a very ugly book) our Logic Brain is there for basic survival mode.
I used the garden (which my mother loves) as an analogy (and yes analogies do break down).
I used the yellow dandelion and the early spring tulip.Dandelion representing Logic and the Tulip representing Creativity. If you feed the Dandelion with Dandelion food it will flourish.
If you feed the Tulip with wonderful Tulip food it will flourish.
Logic reminds us that; IT isn't necessarywhere are you going to put ITwho but you wants ITIT is a waste of time and money! We all know what life lives within the breath of creativity!!!
So that explains why I have created this painting that says......
Feed The Tulips

ReplyDeleteLovely! Your tulip is so similar to my very first just now peeking out- it brings my joy every time I look out the kitchen window! Now when I see it, I will be reminded to feed my creativity too!

ReplyDeleteWhat you feed grows for sure!! Beautiful! I agree creativity fills us up in ways logic never will! The artist way is an awesome book, read it years ago and it changes how you think! Happy ppf!! Very pretty artwork!

I actually find that logic enhances creativity - my internal life would be much poorer without it. But I'm also an abstract thinker, which helps. Anyway, I love your tulip!
ReplyDeleteLoving the pastel color scheme you used for your artwork. Very soothing! Well Done!
ReplyDeleteLove your writing and the painting is so fresh looking.Lovely work
ReplyDeleteLovely flower--and logic re: what grows is what you bother to feed. But why do you think The Artist's Way is an ugly book? (I ask because I found it immensely helpful in terms of feeding my own creative potential.)

ReplyDeleteThanks Sabina........you are correct the book was great for feeding creativity (once I got past the cover)....I found the colour choice sucked life out of me, rather then giving life through colour.....a little strange probably but, that's me.....LOL...
blessings,
Cindy♥
