Bless the LORD, O my soul:
and all that is within me, bless His Holy name.
Psalm 103:1
That was the song placed in my head as I was waking up this morning.
I had the most interesting dream this morning, that I think I should share.
I was to walk up on imaginary steps.
Walk up where, I'm not sure, but I know it was the long way around.
A gentleman on my right was guiding me in which direction to place my foot, since I myself could not yet see the step. Interestingly all the steps were cusions, or like baseball bases.
As I picked up my foot to move it in the direction he was guiding me, the step began to form. By the time I had reached the top (which only took a couple of steps) I was no longer needing his direction, although he was still there to encourage me. I turned to go across the gap (or valley maybe) and as I did he told me to go down now, and as I did the steps just dissolved into one another, 10,9,8,7,6 and so on.
When I got to the bottom I was sitting in a nice comfy, over-stuffed chair. I was absolutely amazed, because I actually saw the steps, I felt the steps, they were real.
I think God is trying (He is very patient) to show me that I need to first pick up my foot, and as I begin to do that the step becomes clearer, and the next step is easier to see as well..... but I first must pick up my foot.
I believe I have another story to share, but I will wait.
Having that song on my heart this morning, I thought I would look it up. I was glad to see that it was a scripture. It made me wonder about the word "Bless"; and what does it really mean, what was God's purpose for using that word.
to according to Strong's it means the following:
1) to bless, kneel
a) (Qal)
1) to kneel
2) to bless
b) (Niphal) to be blessed, bless oneself
c) (Piel) to bless
d) (Pual) to be blessed, be adored
e) (Hiphil) to cause to kneel
f) (Hithpael) to bless oneself
2) (TWOT) to praise, salute, curse
a) (Qal)
1) to kneel
2) to bless
b) (Niphal) to be blessed, bless oneself
c) (Piel) to bless
d) (Pual) to be blessed, be adored
e) (Hiphil) to cause to kneel
f) (Hithpael) to bless oneself
2) (TWOT) to praise, salute, curse
I'd say "Be Blessed", but I'm not sure what that would mean.... would it mean, "Be Praised", Be Satuted",...Hmmmmm....
