Drug Alert

Now perhaps this is not new news, but it is new news to me. I think that it is something we all need to be visually aware of.
My daughter just came down to inform me that she knew why we see shoes or boots hanging over telephone lines..... she had been watching "Extreme Home Makeover" (gotta love Ty), anyway..... a neighbourhood was getting a face-lift and this piece of information was shared.
Shoes or Boots hanging over phone or cable wires indicates that drugs are being sold near by. And apparantely different colours represent different drugs...... they are a clever and sneaky bunch.

Heads up, watch for wires.

I, like some other people thought it was just silly kids, which of course it could be in some cases.... but- ya never can be to careful with drug dealers. Pin It

Home School

Now I have done alot of travelling today.... travelling around to many different sites, and I am amazed at the amount of women that do "homeschooling".
It makes me wonder "what's up with home schooling"?
I personally know of one person that has home schooled her children.
Perhaps it is a difference in country's, I don't know????
Is "homeschooling" promoted in the States compared to here in Canada, I don't know? I assume that our education requirements and standards are relatively the same.

I think..... after thinking about it..... that American Women must have a heck of a lot more patience then we do here in Canada.... that's what I think :0)

Perhaps homeschooling is popular here in Canada and I just have not heard much about it. Let me know?

What do you think????

More power to ya ladies, my hat is off to you all.

Did You Know

Did you know that
  • the Jewish people (men I think) were to wear a garment known as a "Tzitzit". In Numbers 15:37-41 God commanded the people saying 'Throughout the generations to come you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments, with a blue cord on each tassel. You will have these tassels to look at and so yo will remember all the commands of the LORD....
  • Jesus would of worn the same type of garment (Shawl)
  • And in Deuteronomy 22:12 "Make tassels on the four corners of the cloak you wear".
  • In Numbers 15:38 the word translated for "border" or "corner" is the Hebrew word "kanaph", which can be translated "wings"
  • Each shawl was made of 5 double knots and 8 threads, which has a total numeric value of 13. The Hebraic numerical value for the word "Tzitzit" is 600, added together you have 613, which points to the 613 commandments of the law.
  • Matthew 9:20-22 the woman with the issue of blood. She touched the hem of His garment, the Greek word for garment is "kraspedon" meaning, "a tassel of twisted wool"
  • Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
Just some more interesting facts about our Hebrew Christian Roots.

First he decides that he will gently encourage the snow to go.

Realizing very quickly that it just won't work...

He decides it's time for the "Big Toys"

He meets his challenge, head on

Shorts, flip-flops and a snowblower..... do you see something wrong with this picture?

the date and time stamp on the photos is incorrect Pin It

Passover Today- first day

As I woke this morning, my thoughts pondered the memory that today is the First Day of Passover. The first of the Jewish Festivals.
Christ, our Jewish Savior, died during the Passover Festival. Why we remember His death any other time is a mystery to me.
Photobucket
An awesome teacher and friend of mine Joe Amaral has shed much needed light on the fact that Christ was Jewish. He participated in Jewish Festivals, He knew that He would be the One to fulfill the festivals.

Did you know that; Photobucket
  • the High Priest would select the Passover Lamb from a little town called Bethlehem.
  • after selecting the lamb the High Priest would carry it through the Golden Gate.
  • Jesus was carried in through the Golden Gate (Eastern Gate).
  • Abraham was prepared to sacrifice his son on Mount Moriah, but God provided a goat for sacrifice instead. The Lord said He would provide a sacrifice one day.
  • Calvary is part of Mount Moriah.
  • Written over the head of Christ on the cross was "Jesus of Nazareth and King of the Jews"
  • the Hebrew written word is read from right to left.
  • the first letter of the key words read: YHWH which was also know as the "Tetragrammaton"- the accepted use and spelling for the name of God in biblical days.
  • the moment Jesus gave up His spirit, the curtain in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
  • in biblical and modern times, if a Jewish Father lost his firstborn son he would tear his robe as a sign of grief and mourning.

To sum it all up, as my friend Joe Amaral has written, "we must first remember that Passover was a pilgrim feast-meaning that every Jewish male and his family would be worshippng in Jersusalem

So we know that he Temple would have been overflowing with people and activity. Imagine that as they are worshipping God in the temple, the temple veil-which was protecting and separing them from the Holy of Holies-is torn before their very eyes. The Glory of God is now exposed, they can see into the place where only the High Priest could go. God has just torn His robe because His son has died!

Who is this Son and where is He? They look to the cross and the one who is hanging upon it. They see Jesus who claimed to be the Son of God.

They see Jesus who performed miracle after miracle. they see Jesus who has fulfilled prophecy after prophecy in all he He has done. They see Jesus, the Son of God who hangs upon the cross who has become their Passover Lamb. And as a sign to all those who are present, which is most likely numbering in the tens of thousands, God tears His robe He has just lost His son! Wow!"

All the above information was taken from Joe Amaral's book "First Century Foundations". Joe is an awesome teacher, it would be worth your while to check out their website for more reading material. You may have seen Joe on his television show"First Century Foundations", he is on the Miracle Channel and Vision T.V.

Spring has arrived

The sun is shining and there is a warm breeze
The sound of hammers and drills fill the air..... but it is still too nice out to be concerned about the impending doom of large homes towering over our back-yard and pool.... We'll have plenty of time to concern ourselves with that later.

For now I shall enjoy the fact that my windows, and back door are finally open....with the cats sitting and waiting for their moment to dash out into the great outdoors.

I wonder; without such a long winter would we appreciate the small signs of spring as much as we do?

Old World Vintage - Sissy's House

This is my sissy's house....as you can see she is anything but "shabby chic"

She has had a flare for decorating since she was born I'm sure.
Her real knack is in the ability to see something wonderful in an old piece of junk.
She vary rarely pays much for her stuff if anything.

The old pump organ -which she does play- was a gift from her late husband. He loved to delight her.

Now this is a "Shabby Chic" as Michelle goes.....I won't be surprised if she ends up painting the chairs black, just to match everything else. We seldom run into conflict over found treasures due to our definite difference in style.....she's dark, I'm light.....she likes red, I love pink.....she loves bold, I love subtle.... on and on it goes Pin It

We are loved

So what is a wife?
That thought was something I was pondering this today.
I believe that a wife is something that is to be treasured. She is to be protected from the harshness of the world. I see her being gently held as her husband cups his hands around her to protect her. She is so dear to his heart that he wants nothing to touch her.

Photobucket
So what is a husband?
I see a husband as someone that is strong. I see him standing with his back to the storm with his wife and children clinging tightly to his waist and safely tucked under his large coat. He bears the storm, stands firm. He will let nothing hurt them.

What are they together?
I see a wife placed so gently in her husbands hands and he is standing directly behind her as she turns to stare into his face with such love and pride. She will defend him to the end.

Together they look at the world placed before them, and together they choose what course their lives will take.

Now I know that we are referred to as "the bride" of Christ; so He then is to be our Husband.
He is our Strong tower.

I can see God loving us and wanting to tell us; so He bends down on one knee to whisper in our ears, "I LOVE YOU",
and we say to Him "how much do you love me"
and He opens His arms wide and says
"this much".
Photobucket

As far as the east is from the west, that is how much I love you.
And what I wouldn't do for you, what I wouldn't do to protect you.

We are truly and undeniably loved, loved by One like no other. Truly treasured.

Photobucket

Funny thing this morning; I was pondering how a wife should be treated by her husband & how a wife should see her husband. I thought that my thoughts were strickly personal, all about me and my life.
As my thoughts began to form I could see images. I could feel a husband holding his wife in his hand. I could sense the pure love he had for her. And I could see the women and her children holding tight to her husband as he stood tall, tall against the storm that was trying to consume them.
The funny thing is, is that suddenly I could see that is was God who was sheltering us with His hands. It was God who loved us so dearly. And it was God that she looked into the face of with such love and pride.
It wasn't about me and my relationship, it was about me and my God. How much He loved me. What He was willing to do to protect me. How He treasured me.
